【Description】

Almost white to light yellow tablets.

【Indications】

1. It can be used for following diseases:

(1) Trichomoniasis: this product is in treatment of trichomoniasis induced by trichomonas vaginalis. Since trichomoniasis belongs to sexually transmitted disease, and has potential severe sequel, so the sexual partner of infected patients should also be treated at the same time, to avoid the repeated infections.

(2) Giardiasis: this product can be used to treat giardiasis induced by Giardia of duodenum, applicable to adults and children over 3-year old.

(3) Amoebiasis: this product is for treatment of intestinal amoebiasis and amebic liver abscess induced by Entamoeba histolytica, applicable to adults and children over 3-year old, but not applicable to cyst without any symptoms.

(4) Bacterial vaginosis: this product is to treat bacterial vaginosis of nonpregnant women. The other pathogens should be excluded, such as Trichomonas vaginalis, Chlamydia trachomatis, gonococcus, candida albicans, herpes simplex virus.

(5) Duodenal ulcer: combined with antibiotics and antiacid to cure duodenal ulcer related to helicobacter pylori.

(6) Anaerobic bacteria infections, intra-abdominal infections: peritonitis, abscess; female genital system infection: endometritis, uterine muscle infective endocarditis; fallopian tube-ovary abscess; septicemia; postoperative wound infection; skin and soft tissue infections; pneumonia, lung abscess, pyothorax; acute ulcerative gingivitis.

2. This product is to prevent the postoperative infections induced by anaerobic bacteria, such as colon surgery, gastrointestinal tract and urogenital system surgery.

【Usage and Dosage】

1. Oral administration, recommend to take after meals to reduce the gastrointestinal side effects.

(1) Trichomoniasis: single dose, 2 g, take in the meal. The sexual partner should take with the same dose.

(2) Giardiasis: adults: single dose, 2 g, take in the meal. Children over 3-year old: single dose 50mg/kg, not exceeding 2 g, take in the meal.

(3) Amoebiasis: 2 g daily for adults, for three days, take in the meal. Children over 3-year old: 50mg/kg/day, not exceeding 2 g/day, take in the meal, for 3-5 days.

(4) Bacterial vaginosis: 2g per day for non pregnant women, take in the meal for two days, or 1 g a day, take in the meal, for five days.

(5) Duodenal ulcer: combined with antibiotics and antiacid to cure duodenal ulcer related to helicobacter pylori: 500 mg per time, twice a day, for 7 days, combined therapy. The combined drug is Omeprazole and clarithromycin. Omeprazole, 20 mg each time, twice a day; clarithromycin, 250 mg each time, twice a day.

(6) Anaerobic bacteria infections: 1 g/time/day. The initial dosage will be doubled. Or 500 mg/time, twice a day. The general course is 5-6 days, or based on the illness condition.

2. This product is to prevent the postoperative infections induced by anaerobic bacteria: single dose 2 g, 12 hours before operation.
