【Indications】

For the treatment of generalized tonic-clonus seizures, complex partial seizures (psychomotor seizures, lobe epilepsy), simple partial seizures (limitations episodes) and epileptic state. It can also be used for the treatment of prosopalgia, recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, paroxysmal choreoathetosis syndrome, paroxysmal control disorders (including anger, anxiety and behavioral disorders caused by insomnia, hyperexcitability), myotonia and cardiac conduction disturbances caused by tricyclic antidepressants overdose. This product also applies to digitalis poisoning due to ventricular and supraventricular arrhythmias. It has poor effects on arrhythmia caused by other reasons.

【Usage and Dosage】

Epilepsy. Adults, 250~300 mg (2.5~3 tablets)/day. The initial dosage is 100 mg (1 tablet)/time and twice a day; in 1-3 weeks the dosage can be increased to 250~300 mg (2.5~3 tablets), separate to 3 times, the extreme dosage is 300 mg (3 tablets) per time and 500 mg (5 tablets)/day. The medication should be individualized due to individual differences and saturated pharmacokinetic characteristics. When onset and blood drug concentration reach steady state, it can be changed to long-acting (controlled release) preparation, taking it for once. For frequent incidence, take this medicine 12-15 mg/kg weight in separate 2-3 times a day (once every 6 hours), on the next day take 100 mg (1 tablet) (or 1.5~2 mg/kg weight) and3 times a day until the appropriate dose is reached. Children: the initial dosage is 5 mg/kg/day in separate 2 to 3 times. Do not take more than 250 mg (2.5 tablets) a day. The maintaining dosage is 4~8 mg/kg or 250 mg/m² body surface area in separate 2-3 times a day. If conditions permit, the blood drug concentration supervision should be proceeded.

Antiarrhythmic. Adults: 100～300 mg (1~3 tablets) in 1 time or separate 2-3 times a day, or 10-15 mg/kg weight on the 1st day, 7.5～10 mg/kg weight on the 2nd to 4th days. The maintain dosage is 2-6 mg/kg weight. Children: The initial dosage is 5 mg/kg weight in separate 2 to 3 times orally. The daily dosage is no more than 300 mg (3 tablets) according to the disease condition. The maintain dosage is 4-8 mg/kg or 250 mg/m2 body surface area in separate 2-3 times a day.

Collagenase synthesis inhibitors. Adults: The initial dosage is 2-3 mg/kg weight/day in seperate 2 times. The dosage can be increased to the utmost under patients' tolerance while the plasma drug concentration can reach at least 8 μg/ml. The common daily dosage is 100~300 mg (1~3 tablets).
